Happy Egg Day, or as it is more commonly known “Easter”! Today I spent a good chunk of time creating a concept board for our dining area that I can only describe as modern with pops of yellow. Our living room right now is pretty minimal and functional for the most part, but eventually I would like to invest in some nice dining chairs and pendant lights. The dining table we have is from IKEA and it’s pretty brilliant for how much it cost and it works wonderfully in our space, but I know we could do better. Ideally we’d have a much larger dining area to work with, but obviously that’s not the case right now. I would love to have a large dining table and be able to throw dinner parties or table top gaming nights! One day that’ll be a reality.
The concept board I whipped up today has a lot of great inspiration. It’ll be a great resource for me to refer to when browsing for tables or chairs, and it’ll be interesting to see if I’m able to find more budget-friendly alternatives to some of the more high end options I’ve included on there. Concept boards are so fun to make! I’d love to get the chance to make more for people I know, especially if someone is looking to update a room and are struggling to nail down a concept for it. It would be even better if I could help someone go through the whole process of updating their room — design brief to concept board to sourcing items to presentation board to ordering and decorating! Not only would it be great experience and a nice boost for my (future) portfolio, but I’d be able to help someone create a functional space they truly love. That, and I get to experiment with styles that are maybe a little different to my personal one. For right now I’ll just continue focusing on my coursework, but hopefully I bump into a friend of family member in need of interior design help soon!
