Boring Yet Productive

Some days are just meant to be boring, I guess. Despite my best efforts to oversleep, I actually woke up earlier than my alarm and maybe that was enough to get my brain working and ready to go for the day. Despite having mapped out a routine during the week, my weekends seem to leave something to be desired. Most of my husband’s time is taken up editing the podcast (it’s called Make New Friends and you should definitely check it out!) and I often find myself wandering around the house aimlessly.

In regards to finding something to do to occupy my time, I’ve had a number of ideas come to mind over the last few months: gymnastics, ballet, color guard, and choir to name a few. So far the only one that has really stuck in terms of availability and feasibility has been ballet. I used to go to ballet when I was about eight years old and from what I can remember I really enjoyed it, despite how strict my ballet teacher was. Unfortunately, I stopped after a year for whatever reason and moved on to other hobbies like acting and singing.

I have a few reasons as to why I think signing up for a ballet class would be a good idea for me, the first of which is that it’s a great way to stay in shape, and the second being that I might be able to meet some new people, too. I’m still mulling over all of the logistics, but I feel fairly confident that I’ll be able to do it in September, so at least that’s something to look forward to.

Today has felt incredibly boring, but I guess I was productive in the fact that I popped out to the shops to get a few things for the veggie burgers we’ll be having tomorrow to make the annual cycling event a little more bearable. I’m not really looking forward to it but hopefully I prove myself wrong.
