Even though it’s currently 5:30AM on the 13th of April as I sit in bed writing this journal entry, I think my body is still on Vegas time so I’m just going to have to backdate this post and chalk it up to jetlag.

We arrived back at Heathrow just before noon on Alex’s birthday and border patrol went so quickly and smoothly that I didn’t even have to worry about forgetting my biometric residence passport in the UK. I was so worried that it was going to be an issue re-entering England without my BRP but I guess Heathrow has switched to using e-passports which is an automated process. After we collected our luggage we grabbed a couple of frappes from Cafe Nero and had a quick bite to eat while waiting for Alex’s mom to pick us up. The drive back to the in-laws was really quick since we gave the run down of our whirlwind weekend in Vegas, then we went inside and had some tea and birthday cake.

It’s so nice being back in the UK. It really does feel like home to me. We drove our car back home and were greeted by the cats as soon as we walked through the front door. I’m pleased to say that they missed us just as much as we missed them! When I finally took off my shoes, I realised that my ankles had swollen to twice their usual size! I’ve never had issues with swollen ankles and legs after flying so I was really shocked to see them. I guess it makes sense why I felt so weird and strained getting up on the airplane to use the toilet. Anyway, by the time we got settled at home it was near enough to dinnertime so we ordered some pizza and ate that infront of the TV before promptly falling asleep. We woke up at 10pm and went up to bed, and then I woke up again at 3:30am to cuddle with Dolores and Rosemary.

Now I’ve got the task of writing up my journal entries for the whole trip!! By the time this entry goes live I’ll have probably written them all, but as of right now I’ve only managed to write the first one. I just know that the second one is from the day of the concert and I know I have well over two hundred photos that I’ll need to organise for it. See you tomorrow!
