An Annoying Setback

I went back to the studio today thinking I would just be labeling candles, but instead I had to fix a bunch of them! An entire scent set up really weirdly and every candle had a rough bumpy texture on top. I’m so annoyed because I swear I’ve been experiencing so many more issues making candles than I usually do, and I thought that changing the wax would mean smooth sailing but I guess I was wrong!! In order to fix the bumpy texture I had to re-melt each candle and babysit the wax with a heat gun to make sure it sets without any bubbles or lumps on top. All of the tins reset successfully, but I kept having issues with the glass jars. It’s disappointing because the jars are quite large and more expensive than the tins, but it seems like the glass doesn’t hold the heat evenly enough. I feel like I’ve tried everything but it’s either the jars or the wax that is the problem. Blegh, so frustrating.

Anyway, tomorrow I’m not going in to the studio because Alex and I need to get to work on the front garden. Last night I ordered the mulch and it’ll be delivered this Saturday so we’ve only got a few days to prepare everything! I reckon we can do it as long as the weather holds. Hopefully tomorrow is less rainy otherwise we’ll be getting seriously muddy.
