The weather has gotten chilly and wet over the last twenty-four hours, which is a bit of a bummer. I’m really glad we had such a sunny weekend while we worked on the front garden. Today we went back to the dump with ten bags of soil and it was raining so it was ten times harder hauling them out of the car and dumping them in the skip. Also we found out we’d previously been putting our soil and hard core in the wrong area and I felt bad about that. Well at least now we know the correct spot to dump soil is not in the garden waste area.
I realised last night that I’m stressed about a lot of things right now because it’s unclear when I can do them. At the moment I think I have a lot of stuff happening this week and it feels like certain things need to get done first in order for me to do others. I’m planning on going to the studio tomorrow so that will be good for my conscience, I think.
After dinner tonight Alex and I worked on prepping the other half of the front garden for mulching tomorrow. I thought we would have to do more but the rain really made it clear that we only needed to shovel some rocks, so once we did that we laid out the cardboard. Turns out we actually had just enough cardboard, too! Then, I dumped the remaining mulch and I’m really glad we ordered another bulk bag because the remaining mulch didn’t even cover a quarter of the ground. So mulch round deux takes place tomorrow with Alex at the helm while I go to the studio, and on Wednesday we’ll make another trip to the dump.
Even though working on the garden has been really fucking tiresome and difficult, I also really like it. Some day I would really like to do more gardening more often, the problem is having the time and the money to do so!
In other news, I think I’ve found my chosen kombucha brand that works well with my digestive system and tastes nice! We ordered a variety twenty-four pack of kombucha from Lo Bros and today I tried the raspberry lemon flavour (yum). I’m pleased to have found a kombucha that doesn’t upset my stomach like some of the other ones have. Hoping my gut bacteria improves, too!
