This journal entry was written the day after!
So we drove down to Portsmouth for our friend’s housewarming party! The weather was perfect and it was interesting seeing how the land changed the closer we got to our destination. I was expecting to see more sandy landscapes but I was surprised to see really tall trees and rolling hills! I’ve always enjoyed seeing England by car so it was nice to be in the passenger seat while Alex drove us.
We got to the party in the afternoon and it was going well for a while. We met some nice folks and it was cool to see our friend’s new home, too! We had a few drinks and played some games. A few hours into the party, things got a little sour for us when one of the guests was basically acting like a troll in real life whenever BTS came up. We had met him a few times before and he hadn’t made the best impression on us then either but he was being misogynistic and an edgelord. It really got to me, so I ended up having a cry in the bathroom with Alex and then we just gave ourselves space from everyone so I could cool down and we could sober up. Unfortunately, it just felt uncomfy and the vibes were off after that so we walked to Asda and filled ourselves with veggie sushi and then a few hours later we drove back home.
It’s upsetting when something like that happens because we weren’t there for that guy, we were there for our friend! Hopefully we’ll get to visit again another time because Portsmouth seems pretty neat.
