Man, our trip to the Lake District was so short and sweet!! We said our goodbyes and began our journey back home around noon, stopping in Birmingham again for snacks and fuel. We also bought a really big cactus!
The drive home was so hot and sunny I couldn’t really do my fair share. I suggested we stop and get a meal at a service station so Alex and I could switch and he could finish the rest of the drive. I definitely didn’t drink enough water while we were away so that plus having a hangover wasn’t the best combo for a road trip.
We made it back home around seven in the evening and I was so happy to see the cats. Rosemary is always so shy when we have people over so I think he was really glad that we came home and didn’t have to hide in the closet anymore.
Oh and another nice thing about coming home is the fact that some of my roses have bloomed in the front garden! The red rose is a nice fragrant one but I was expecting it to be pink instead of red. The orange roses are really pretty but they don’t really smell like anything in particular. Still, it’s great to come home to so new blooms!
Anyway, now that I’m all caught up on my journal entries from the last couple of days I’m looking forward to chilling on the sofa and watching netflix with Alex. See ya!
