It’s only the first day of October and yet I’m already struggling to nail down my Halloween costume! We went to the shops today to pick up a costume I’d had my eye on, but it actually ended up not really suiting my shape so I had to return it for store credit. I think I might just be a cat this year, mostly because it’s super easy, it speaks to my soul, and I’ve never actually been a cat for Halloween before so it only seems right. Really though, it’s just annoying that there are so many hyper-sexualized costumes for women. I would have totally been a skeleton but the costumes were all too large or baggy and didn’t look right on me either. I just want to be something realistic, not a “sexy” version of a skeleton or a ghost or a zombie. It’s silly.

In other news, I think I’ve mentioned on here before that I’m going to be doing one video a day for the month of October (aka VEDO). I’ve already filmed and edited the first video but it’ll be going up tomorrow morning just so I don’t have to worry too much about doing it all on one day. I’m looking forward to making some more videos, so hopefully it ends up being a fun project for me this month.

It’s practically tradition that I watch Halloween movies throughout the month of October, so tonight we’ll be watching Coraline. I was so surprised to find out that my husband hadn’t seen Coraline, especially seeing as how it was Laika’s first feature film! I think he’ll like it, even though it is a bit dark. Tomorrow I think we might go to the movies and maybe do a bit more shopping while we’re out and about. I need to pick up a few bits and bobs so it would be a good idea to do it while we’re around although it’s not the end of the world if we don’t have the time.
