When September Ends

The leaves are changing along with the weather, turning crisp before covering the ground completely. There are only a few more moments left in the month of September, and while that may not seem like much, it’s just enough time left to reflect and prepare for the next chapter of Autumn.

Growing up in South Florida, I didn’t get to experience the change in seasons. In fact, we were lucky if it got cold enough to turn off the air conditioning on Christmas day. Now that I live in a climate that is capable of more weather patterns than strict thunderstorms and scalding heat, I’m head over heels for Autumn. I love breathing in the air right when the weather gets chilly, and waking up to grey skies is something I’ve grown to expect on many a cold morning. This past month I got a good taste of the colder weather, but it’s only when September ends that Autumn can truly begin.

The end of September also means that Halloween is right around the corner, and as someone who is very passionate about all things spooky, I’ll have you know that I’m growing more and more excited each day. I even spent a little time putting up decorations around the flat! There are a few more items I need to pick up, most of which are really just pumpkins, but the pumpkin patch isn’t open until mid-October so I’ll just have to make due with what I’ve got for the time being. I did manage to put in an order on Amazon for some Halloween decorations, so hopefully those are delivered soon so I can continue decorating. Halloween is an exciting time for me because it means I have every reason to watch all of my favorite scary (and not-so-scary) movies, and I can’t wait.

Anyway, I just wanted to share some of my thoughts on the month of September. It’s been a good month, but I can hardly contain my excitement for the month of Halloween I mean October. Right, I better get going. We’re going to the pub so I’ll see you tomorrow!
