I really wanted to have a great time exploring Brighton, I really did. I envisioned traipsing down the Brighton Pier with my husband, laughing at all of the tourist traps and maybe even going on some of the rides. I saw us wandering around The Lanes, peeking into shops and possibly finding some trinkets to take home with us.
Instead, it rained. Heavily.
We were so focused on trying to stay dry that we completely missed The Lanes, and anyway most of the shops were completely closed so I doubt we would have found them even if the weather was dry.
I really do wish I had more good things to say about Brighton but I think that, unfortunately, we decided to visit this city at possibly the worst time of the year. It’s definitely the off season for this seaside town but it doesn’t help that the weather has been total crap, too. I won’t form a concrete opinion of Brighton just yet, although I must admit that I haven’t been able to find much that I like about it.
At any rate, it’s safe to say that I’m ready to go home tomorrow! It’s too bad that this holiday didn’t work out. Hopefully the next one is better.
