After a busy weekend Monday tends to feel like it should be a Sunday, at least in my opinion. Thankfully, the lovely weather from the weekend stuck around today and we were able to hang some laundry outside to dry. Since I began doing my own laundry and really paying attention to my clothing, I’ve been very particular about the pieces that I tumble dry. I’ve had too many t-shirts and socks shrivel up in the laundry machine, so now probably 90% of my garments need to be hung up to dry. I say need, but it’s really just me being incredibly picky.
I suppose the benefits of skipping the tumble drier are less energy consumption, longer-lasting clothes, and the ability to wash more loads of laundry in a day since I don’t have to wait for a dry cycle. In the winter, however, it is such a pain in the ass! Cold weather and humidity can extend the hang-dry time by a few days, and sometimes I end up needing to chuck stuff in the drier anyway to finish the last little bit. But now that it’s getting warmer and the days are brighter, I’m so glad we’re able to hang stuff to dry outside! When it’s really warm out it’ll really cut the drying time in half.
In other news, the ARMY bomb I ordered was finally delivered today! I think I’m still going to keep the one Alex ordered (mostly since it’s already in my concert bag) but I’m relieved that we’ll both have a lightstick to bring with us to the concert next month.
Today while I was playing video games on the sofa Dolores and Ichabod came to cuddle with me. It’s safe to say that they really did miss us over the weekend, and I really missed them, too.
Tomorrow is supposed to be even sunnier than today was, so I’m crossing my fingers Alex and I can do a little more work in the front garden during his lunch break. Oh, that reminds me that I did take a look at the cost of mulch and I was pleasantly surprised to see that it’s going to be affordable for us to do after all! I saw on a few sites that a bulk bag is from £50-£80, with delivery on top. Honestly that’s less than I was expecting! I reckon after we get back from Vegas we’ll find a time to order the mulch and get the whole thing done. It might end up happening in May, but I would like to do it before July when it’ll likely be super hot out.
