We started off our morning with a BTS concert stream! The South Korean government is basically trying to get the World Expo to go to Busan so they’ve orchestrated a free BTS concert and city-wide events to promote the whole thing. As far as BTS concerts go, it was great! The streaming was abysmal on all of the different sites, which blows my mind because of how heavily the concert was promoted and how much HYBE (BTS’ label) has done concert streaming and done it well over the last two years. Alex and I were scrambling to find links to watch after all of the official sources died, and we ended up watching most of the concert on Twitch and then the last bit on a Twitter live stream. The concert was pretty sick, though. They finally performed their new song from PROOF called RUN BTS and it did not disappoint!!! I’ve had the song stuck in my head since then and I’m itching to learn the dance moves already.
After the concert we got ready and caught a train to London to see our friend Hannah perform in the band for the production of I, Joan. It was my first time seeing a show in London and it was really cool that I got to see it at Shakespeare’s Globe theatre! In the pictures I took from our seats on the benches you can see how crammed the standing section known as “the yard” got. It’s an open air theatre so it got quite cold at times, but I’m just glad that we didn’t have to stand for three hours! Shout out to past Sienna for pre-ordering beer and popcorn when booking the tickets – it was a nice little treat for us while we sat on the benches.
Once the play finished we dashed out and got a train back home. My stomach wasn’t agreeing with me very much so I was eager to get back to the cats. The whole trip to London turned out really nice but I did feel super stressed and overwhelmed the entire time. Even the train up to London was super bumpy and made me feel nauseous! I am glad we went and got to see our friend do her thing up there on stage, though. It’s a good thing I didn’t let fear/stress get in the way of a good experience!
