Tough Decision and Mushroom Repair

I’ve come to a decision about my studio and I’m going to give notice so I can end the lease. I even wrote down a pros and cons list to help me decide if it’s worth keeping the studio while I work on my mental health but ultimately I just don’t want it hanging over my head. I already feel guilty enough that I don’t use it and we could certainly use the £335 a month on other things (therapy, for one). Next week I’ll put an announcement up on my business Instagram about the hiatus.

Ugh, I just feel crappy about the whole thing. But I need to focus on getting my mental health to a place where I can cope with life’s ups and downs without everything turning to shit. Speaking of my mental health, I finally emailed a therapist to see if they have availability! Unfortunately they don’t so now I’m back to square one. Very cool, very cool. I will keep looking.

In other news, one of the large mushrooms broke! The wind knocked the top of the mushroom off of the stem so after some brainstorming I came up with the plan to glue fibreglass rods on top of the metal umbrella structure underneath with a special type of glue and hopefully that will reinforce it enough to be able to zip tie it back to the stem. I’m bummed that the umbrella didn’t seem to hold as well as I thought it would. The other large and medium mushrooms are still standing but I wouldn’t be surprised if they needed some reinforcement, too. Fingers crossed this method works because I’m not willing to take up welding right now to fix it! Perhaps next year.
