When I was sixteen years old I set myself the goal of taking one self-portrait every day for the whole of 2008. Throughout that year I learned a lot about my dedication, determination, and I greatly enjoyed being able to express myself through photography. Eight years later I am happy to step up to the challenge once more, hopeful that my efforts will be a little less cringe-worthy as an adult.
In addition to my photo-a-day challenge, I am also setting myself the task to write a journal entry every day. Some days will be lists and accounts of what I got up to that day, while others may be creative writing prompts. It’s been such a long time since I’ve kept a daily journal so I think this is a great opportunity for me to reflect on a more regular basis. Either way, I really am looking forward to my 2016 photo journal!
I hope you find some inspiration in my photographs or my words throughout this year-long project. I will also be reading and responding to comments, so don’t be shy — say hi!
