So. Many. Pumpkins.

I was not joking when I said I had to carve pumpkins today. I sat down in front of the TV, put Gossip Girl on auto pilot and carved pumpkins until my husband got home. Or, at least, that’s what I like to think! In actuality, I managed to get so much done today. I washed the blankets, finally found popsicle sticks (after going to three separate craft shops!), and I also carved four pumpkins.

One of the best things about carving pumpkins is being able to roast the seeds afterward. Add a bit of chili garlic salt to them and voilá! You’ve just made yourself a delectable and addictive snack. You’re welcome.

Right now we’re just putting the last batch of cookies into the oven. The plan with these little dudes is to ice them for our party on Saturday. I’m not entirely sure whether or not we should ice them on the day or if it would be better to do a few of them tomorrow just incase. Sometimes I feel like I have much higher expectations for day-of productivity than is actually possible, so I guess we’ll see how I’m feeling tomorrow. I mean, I’m doing candy apples tomorrow! It wouldn’t hurt to ice a few cookies, would it?

It’s been a very productive day for me, and I expect tomorrow will be, too. I’ve got to make sure I do one last tidy around the house before our guests arrive tomorrow night, but other than that I think we’ll be set. Actually, now that I think about it we’ve got a lot going on tomorrow evening. We’ve got to go to the shops, tidy the flat, make dinner, and tie up any loose ends all in the span of three hours. I think we’ll manage, so cross your fingers that we do!

day 301 so. many. pumpkins.
