Pumpkin Pie is Truly the Best

Thanksgiving is officially over, folks! I made another pumpkin pie today, as well as one with a gluten-free crust, and I also mashed five kilograms worth of potatoes, so I think I’m set until next year, haha.

Aside from all of the festivities, I found some time this morning to write a few thousand words in my novel and now I’m only five thousand words away from finishing NaNoWriMo for the second year in a row! I got really choked up writing part of my story today because a character died rather suddenly, and I don’t think I’ve quite recovered from it. The story’s pretty much over now so I’ve basically got to wrap it up and then I’ll be done with it.

Dinner at the in-law’s was excellent, by the way. We had a vegetarian nut loaf with a cranberry sauce on top, as well as all of the usual fixings like mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, cornbread, vegetarian gravy, roasted carrots, broccoli, and cauliflower. Since we ended up heading home a little earlier than expected I think we’ll definitely need to pick up some leftovers when we go over tomorrow!

Oh, and I can’t forget about the pumpkin pie. UGH! If you’ve never had pumpkin pie, then I don’t think you understand how delicious this stuff is. I think next year we’ll need to make a pumpkin pie to keep at our flat just so we’ve got extra to go around. You just can’t have Thanksgiving without a slice of pumpkin pie!

Anyway, I’m going to wrap up this journal entry and get ready for bed. See you tomorrow!
