I’ve done a lot of chores today, and for that reason alone I just feel super boring. Is that normal? Probably, but I’ve got a 2016 photo journal to write so it’s making writing this journal entry even more difficult than usual! I hate having boring days, even if they’re productive. It’s like, oh, wow, you edited your LinkedIn profile for a few hours and then you cleaned the bathroom? Congratulations, you’re doing the bare minimum today!
Okay, that seems a bit harsh but when I look back at my day and can hardly remember what I did, that’s how you know it’s been boring. And I feel a bit bad about it, if I’m being totally honest. I wish I could do more fun activities that get me out of the house every day, but I just don’t have the funds to support that kind of lifestyle. Yesterday I came to the shocking realization that my bank account is sittin’ pretty at £0.00, so that should tell you just how much “fun stuff” I have planned for the rest of the month. Thankfully we’ve already bought Christmas presents and pre-paid for AirHop for our five year anniversary next week, so it’s not like we’ll have to hide away in our flat until the end of the month, but we definitely don’t have any money to do spontaneous things. Sort of a bummer.
Speaking of bummers, I just wanted to mention that I actually don’t feel too bummed out about the lack of money in my bank account. Sure, it would be swell to pop down to the pub for a drink but honestly I would much rather stay at home with the cats! The main thing that concerns me is buying food, especially since the bulk of our food budget goes towards cat food. Luckily there’s an early pay day happening next week so we’ll be able to buy groceries and the like, although it’s still going to be tight from now until the end of January.
All of this seems far more worrisome than it actually is, but that’s what happens when you have a boring Monday! See you tomorrow!
