Preparing to Travel

There are only thirty-four days left before I get to see BTS live in concert, how crazy is that?! It’s been over two years since I last traveled anywhere, let alone used my passport. There seems to be an almost never-ending list of things I want to bring with me, from outfits to toiletries, to what I’m packing in my carry-on… As much as it seems daunting, it’s equally as exciting because I’m getting the chance to fantasize about my dream weekend in Vegas! Mental, seriously.

Today Alex and I went out to do a little bit of shopping, although it wasn’t very successful in the end. I’ve got grand plans for our big night out in Vegas that require false lashes and tons of glitter. I figure, if you can’t wear glitter in Sin City, when can you? We spent some time browsing the shelves at Boots while the cogs in my mind whirred and clicked trying to find the missing part of the equation that is this trip. Ultimately we came away with some teeth whitening stuff, falsies, hand sanitizer, and a couple of other random bits. We’ll definitely need to make a stop at Superdrug to fill in the gaps, but it was nice to peruse.

Speaking of things for the upcoming trip, this morning we got some bits we ordered off of Amazon. The first thing is a high capacity power bank. In 2022, I feel like it’s kind of a necessity to have a good way to charge all your gadgets on the go, so I’m glad we picked one up. Previously we’d only used the small ones that really only give one full charge (if you’re lucky) and this one claims to be able to charge multiple devices at once, multiple times. I’ve already covered it in BTS stickers, so now it’s concert ready!

The second necessity we picked up is something called an AirFly. Basically it’s a bluetooth transmitter/receiver that plugs into a headphone jack, making it useful for in-flight entertainment when you don’t own wired headphones. Another cool feature of this little gadget is its ability to connect two bluetooth headphones at once, meaning that Alex and I can listen to the same thing at the same time without faffing about with a headphone splitter. We used it tonight to chat to our friend Simon on PS4 and it works great!

The last thing we ordered from Amazon for our trip is specifically concert related. Since security is such an issue at stadium events, we ordered a couple of clear bags so we’ll be able to bring charges and stuff with us into the concert. Simple enough, really. I got a cross-body bag and Alex got a mini backpack.

There are still so many things left on our list, but it feels good to cross a few of them off for now. I’ve pretty much worked out what I’m wearing to the concert and for our night out on the town, whereas Alex is still putting his outfits together. We’ve still got time to do it all, even though it feels like our flight is coming up so fast!
