Trusting the Process

As much as I love and adore all four of my cats, it sure as hell is awful when they decide to wake me up in the middle of the night and the early morning. Last night Alex and I got such poor sleep because Margot jumped up on my dressing table and started knocking stuff off to get our attention. Alex ended up going downstairs to keep the cats entertained and then he fell asleep on the sofa. Then around seven in the morning Ichabod jumped up on the dressing table and started knocking stuff off, too! When I woke up all four of the cats were in the bedroom staring at me.

After that I spent the rest of the morning dozing in and out but then I eventually got up and took a bath because I really needed to give my hair a good wash. Speaking of hair, I also decided to trim my fringe and I think I like it. I’m going for the super shaggy look at the moment and the length of my fringe made it difficult to see.

I painted a lot more this evening and I’m at the “trust the process” stage where I don’t think the painting looks very good but I’ve gotta be patient. Mostly I just filled in a lot of the bigger sections and tried to work out those colours and it’s coming along! And anyways, tomorrow I’ll be able to build on top of the layers I painted today.
