Staying up until 4am wasn’t a part of my plan for the weekend, and yet here we are! Despite going to bed so late (or should I say early?) we still managed to get up before noon. I had a huge craving for french toast so my husband kindly trotted out to the shops to fetch a couple of ingredients and then I whipped it up for us for brunch! I’m really not keen on anything too egg-heavy, but sometimes I make an exception for french toast. I think it’s the cinnamon that really does it for me, honestly. It was my first time making french toast, though, and I did a pretty damn good job if I do say so myself!
After loading up on french toast we eventually made our way through town to check out Pippfest 2016, but first we took a detour through the park. Over the summer the park recently got a huge makeover and it was really cool to see all of the new equipment! There were loads of little kids and their parents all around, and I waited patiently in line for my turn on the zipline (despite two young girls cutting in front of me twice) but it was so fun!
We made our way around the pond and eventually found ourselves over in Pippbrook, which is just a tiny section of Dorking. The festival was fairly crowded but I think it was moreso a case of poor planning than anything else. We wandered around to check out the different stalls before sitting in the shade behind the tennis courts. We grabbed some popcorn and an ice cream cone, too, which was a nice little treat on such a sunny day. Pippfest was an interesting experience, to say the least. I’m curious to see if it’ll happen again next year!
Anyway, my brain feels like mush. I ought to get some shut eye soon. See you tomorrow!
