My Finger Hurts

Good news, I finally managed to get caught up on the photo journal from the last week. I just wasn’t feeling like writing much or even just editing the photos so I put it off until I felt like doing it again. The downside is that I definitely missed out on some of the smaller things that happened each day. For example: on Wednesday or Thursday last week the heating element in our oven went out so we had a few nights of stovetop dinners (salads, etc) until Alex got the replacement element and was able to put it in on Saturday. The heating element died last year too so if this is a yearly occurrence then we’ll definitely want to move ahead with renovating the kitchen and getting a new oven.

In other news, we had a few plumbers come around this afternoon and take a look at the radiator situation to give us a quote. A couple of them gave similar quotes to the one from yesterday but luckily one of them quoted us £105 and said he could probably fit us in this week so I think that’s the one we’re going to go with! Fingers crossed it all goes well.

My sprained finger situation hasn’t gotten better, unfortunately. I’ve been wearing a wrist support all day to prevent using my finger and thumb more than necessary and the compression has been great but the pain is still there whenever I take the support off. Even writing this journal entry has been difficult because I have very little dexterity with my right hand. I suppose that if this injury is still this bad next week I’ll go see a doctor or something because who knows, maybe I have a hairline break!!

Tomorrow I have my third COVID vaccination and my flu shot booked for the afternoon. This will be my fourth total jab for COVID but I’m glad I was invited by the NHS to get another round. We’re going to London on Saturday so it’ll be nice to feel a little more protected.
