Radio Disney Reminiscing

I’m not exactly sure how it happened, but last night I took a trip down memory lane and revisited all of the Radio Disney jams I used to know by heart. I say ‘used to’ as if I don’t still know all the words when I definitely do. Back in fifth grade I spent the majority of my mornings waking up to Susan Huber on Radio Disney, AM 1410. You might even say that I was a regular contestant and reigning champ for Hairbrush Karaoke, my repertoire consisting solely of Hilary Duff songs. It was a wild time in my life, folks. My walls were plastered with posters of Hilary Duff, Aaron Carter, N*SYNC, The Backstreet Boys, Destiny’s Child, Jump5, and even Mandy Moore at one point. I was probably obsessed, but I think ten year-olds are allowed that bit of insanity while they’re still young, right?

Anyway, last night I spent maybe an hour before bed finding music videos for Jump5, A*Teens, Lindsay Lohan, Aaron Carter, and Ashlee Simpson to prove to my husband that my childhood musical tastes were superb to the likes of his own. Honestly, I was a little offended when he said he had no idea who Jump5 was but after he saw the music video for Spinnin’ Around he was hooked. Early 2000s pop groups had the most awful choreography! Why did any dance choreographers think flailing arms and legs would look cool?! I have to admit, though, watching all of those music videos made me really want to learn the choreography as well. What can I say? I love a cheesy dance routine!

On another note I am super glad this week is done and dusted. I’m writing this after hitting up the gym for the third (!!!) time this week and I bet you can guess what I’m about to write next: I am exhausted. Definitely looking forward to the weekend, though! I think we’re going to do some shopping tomorrow? We might even go to the movies, too! All right. I’m going to go make a vegetarian curry. See you tomorrow!
